    I remember when he came to my church and I thought I'm a registered representative working for the largest mutual fund company in the world at that time and later a licensed insurance and health agent (Group 1) in Texas. I thought what he is covering is the same basic information we give for free and he gets paid for it. What did he have to offer that was so different. Nothing, it was all basic investor information. I know I listened to his shows was unimpressed. Endorsement from the Church elders and the fact that he had a ministry against porn at that time. I remember during those years there was an advertiser on radio that had a no risk investments commercial. It turned out what they did was buy life insurance policies from people that, if they met a list of criteria, and one of those was life expectancy based on medical history, they had to be over a certain age and basically were going to die in less 5 years then they gave the policy owner pennies on the dollar now, in other words, at a discounted amount from the face value so say a 1 million dollar life insurance policy would be worth 200,000.oo that the policy owner would get now to spend before they died and when they did die, this company would take the 1 million dollars and remember a life insurance death benefit is federally tax free. And they would do this over and over. I thought how unethical it seemed, but on the other hand maybe those folks would rather have the money to enjoy their last days. I never gave them a penny because I never thought he knew anything I didn't or had access to learn. But I guess he really fooled me as a good person that was trying to help. I can't believe it took this long to figure that guy out.

    The "Religion" industry (churches, TV evangelism, religious charities) is based entirely on lies. So, why is anyone shocked to learn that a huckster, conman, liar, thief is a "christianist" radio host and investment adviser? Every religion is false. Every one is manmade. All are nothing more than superstitious tribal nonsense. The biggest red flag in any business deal is if it's with a church or other religious organization or pastor. Religion attracts fools as congregants and that attracts conmen who steal their money. It's just that simple. Amen.

    Scammers are working over time these days. They are requesting down payments and people aren't doing their research and sending the money. And this is not senior citizens, these are Gen Z and Millennials who grew up with the technology they're using and getting tricked into sending money. People please start researching these people and yes ask more than one vendor and look up these people on Google at the least. You can also research businesses on the Secretary of State website and call numbers registered with the state and ask them about payments you are being asked to make!

    It’s also illegal for the homeowner to profit from an insurance settlement so in one of your tips, it’s saying that the contractor gets every penny. Of course they do because if the homeowner keeps any of the money that is illegal. Also you need to enforce deductible laws

    • @JC-life-is-good
      @JC-life-is-good Місяць тому

      The homeowner can keep the insurance settlement and doesn't have to get the repair work done. What's wrong or illegal about this? Or the homeowner can get an insurance settlement and find a contractor that costs less than what the insurance is paying so that the owner can keep the remainder. What's wrong with this? Just because the insurance company pays you doesn't mean you have to pay someone else.

    • @marissacabrales

      Thank you for elaborating on that, I had no idea. If the repairs cost less than the amount the home insurance gives us, what do we do with leftover funds?

    Hhahaahahahahahaaa....no. No. My boys learned how to light, cook with and extinguish a fire by doing it themselves under instruction. They've lit their own now. No injuries. No accidents. No wildfires. DON'T SHELTER CHILDREN - EDUCATE THEM. Be a parent, not a 'don't do that' warden.

    That's dumb. Treat people like they're incompetent, and that's all they'll be. Make them start the fire, make them cook their own food, make them put out the fire, and make them clean up after themselves. If you treat them like responsible adults, that's what they'll be.

  • @mikehoncho1706

    Yeah but no. If you don’t want to teach children how to properly start a camp fire and basic skills because you’re an irresponsible parent with irresponsible children because you don’t supervise them correctly… then sure. Don’t let them close to maintain the fire or start it.

      Each municipality or county of a certain size may adopt their own fire code. Contact your local fire marshal’s office to file a complaint if you feel as though a building is not up to code with required fire alarms, fire sprinkler systems, and extinguishing systems.

    On home claims, it is very good to have a personal property inventory and possibly video "before" the loss. And, have that inventory stored somewhere else (fire destorys that type stuff.) In addition on all claims, sometimes it is helpful after the loss report to follow up a with a demand in 'snail mail' writing. it creates a trail that is not easy to be overlooked. To do so, you need claim number and address to communicate with. If it is a serious loss, certified mail gets attention. Just my suggestions after 52 years selling these contract.

    Texas Windstorm Insurance Assn is a huge rip off. The rates started out reasonable but in the last 3 years they have soared each year. TWIA has collected 3 times more money in the last 3 years than they have spent. Today's homeowner is burdened with this exorbitant cost of TWIA because mortgage companies require windstorm insurance if you live in a coastal county. Windstorm /hurricane insurance used to be included on your homeowners policy and was reasonably priced but all that changed when TWIA was formed. People now pay 5 times more for TWIA windstorm than they did when it was part of homeowners in a competitive market. Insurance in general is hugely profitable and a major ripoff !!!

      It's all numbers, and that is why actuaries get paid so much by the insurance companies. If this year's hurricanes hit us as bad as they predict, get ready for a monster rate hike. And just look at what this so called Little Cat one did already (well some of it can be blamed on deregulation of the power companies).
